Ten Years & You are Still The One!

This week on the 19th we reached our 10 year mark of marriage. After all these years, lets just say....." you're still the one that make me smile. Still the one that drives me wild. Still the one that make me laugh. Still the one that is my better half.

Still the one that that turns my head. Still the one I want to crawl into bed with. Still the one that makes me strong. Still the one that I want to take along. Still the one that I can't get enough of. Still the one I dream about."
"We're still having fun, and you're still the one!"
We have been TAGGED... About Us... 10 years and counting!
1. His full name: Jayson Claud Haws (Claud is a great grandfather's name that has been pasted down through out the Haws generation).
2. How long have you been together? Over 13 years
3. How long did you date? 3-4 years. We started dating once he graduated from High School. Everyone always asks if we dated during high School, and I always say no, but he dated most of my friends, during high school!!! I wrote him during his 2 year mission. (I like to say I waited for him, but he may have a different story!), and then we dated and broke-up and got married in 98. We were engaged for 2 months and were crazy in love!
4. How old is he? 32, two years older than me. Yes, I know I just turned 30 and can no longer give him crap for being old and in his thirties!
5. Who eats more? Jayson eats more.
6. Who said "I love you" first? Jayson, although I said it quickly after.
7. Who is taller? He is almost 6', I'm 5'4"
8. Who sings better? That would be me, although he doesn't have a bad voice, he is just a little more reserved in that dept.
9. Who is smarter? Jayson is definitely smarter when in comes to book smarts(Hello he is a Dr.,) ME..I would have given up after the first 4 years of college, but nope not him he did 8 plus years of school. I guess he should be smarter than me, if he wasn't we may need to ask for our money back!!!! He can figure out anything. I am smart, but if it requires too much thought process I usually turn it over to him.
10. Who does the laundry? Me, but not very well. It's my least favorite household chore. He does help out ALOT. All the other household jobs I have mastered!
11. Who pays the bills? I use to pay the bills, but now the rolls have switched and he pays the bills,(now that we are actually making money). I am totally fine with him paying the bills, but am also willing to help anytime.
12. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does. I sleep on the left, and unfortunately, Gavyn is often found somewhere in between us.
13. Who mows the lawn? He mows the lawn the most, but since I have recently found out that it is basically a vacation.... (no kids and quite random thoughts) I may be fighting him for the job this summer.
14. Who cooks dinner? Me about 99% of the time, but he's a pro at steaks and hamburgers on the grill, and Hamburger Helper-(Let's just say it is not on my favorite list!)
15. Who drives? Jayson ofcourse! There is no way he can sit back and relax if he is not in total control of the vehicle. I am happy to let him drive!
16. Who kissed who first? He definitely kissed me first. I waited 3 months for my first kiss, but I have to say it was definitely worth the wait. It was after a great date to the Chicago Concert in Park City.
17. Who's more stubborn? We are extremely close on this one, but I would have to say Me. I am very very strong willed and will usually stand my guard, or put up a good fight until I get my way.
18. Who asked who out first? My first job was at Taco Time and he and his friends came in one night and he asked me out. I was thrilled, because I had a secret crush on him way before that. Needless to say, I totally loved when he would come and eat at Taco Time and even go through the drive-through. It made my day. All the girls who worked with me would help me keep an eye out for him!
19. Who proposed? He did. He took me to Temple Square to pop the question after a wonderful dinner at the Roof. Let's just say I wondered what he was up to, because he was way nervous, and couldn't eat a thing. Then, we went down by the gates of the temple, all alone..., until a security guy came to and interrupted to go on the temple grounds because they thought someone had entered the temple grounds after hours. I still remember the guy saying... "Sorry to ruin the moment," and right after Jayson proposed. It was wonderful and I'll never forget it. Later that night we drove to the Bountiful Temple and decided that Bountiful would be where we would get married.
20. Who has more friends? Jayson does... he is very outgoing and is always wanting to get together with people. He is very social. I like to keep to myself more, but he is my best friend. I often joke he may have to speak at my funeral, cuz I don't have a lot of friends, (like he does--I am not as popular!) plus no one else knows me like he does.
21. Who is more sensitive? I'm more sensitive. There are a few things that can really get to him though!
22. Who has more siblings? Me. I come from a family of seven kids and he comes from a family of 4 kids.
23. Who wears the pants? Jayson, but there are days I can totally give him a run for his money!

I am TAGGING as Couples... Katie, Erika, Mandy, Ali, Jacque, and Kenna... Have fun Girls!

Utah Dental Association

Last weekend Jayson and I took his staff down the the UDA. We got to see some of our old dental friends from MN, who are now practicing in UT. It was fun to remenisce about the past (school daze) and the ups and downs, oh the moments! We all are embracing the present and although the past was good, it seems like we all are enjoying the present. We have come to the conclusion that the past was worth it, and has got us to where we are today, although we are glad it (school) is over!

These are the wonderful ladies that Jayson gets to work with daily. He is always saying how blessed he is to have a staff that gets along so well.... (considering they are all women). They do a great job, and he appreciates all their hard work in behalf of Haws Family Dentistry. There are a few of our ladies missing in this picture, but we managed to have an enjoyable dinner at Rodizio at Trolley Square!

They each invited their spouse, and we ate and ate and ate, till we could eat no more. It was fun, after a long day at the convention!

My love..... My Valentine!

This morning Jayson and I woke up to little footsteps and whispering in our bedroom. The girls had drawn a Treasure Hunt Map, and had hidden drawings and presents they had made for Valentines Day. One was hidden in the closet, another in the diaper drawer. Pretty good Huh? They spent hours I am sure, last night preparing the detailed map, instead of sleeping. Baylee bought her sister a new princess night light with her blibs from school (good tickets) that she had earned. Jenna drew her this cute picture with the large heart. They were individualy wrapped as if it were Christmas.

B made this collage for me, and yes, I was a recipiant of her hard work boondaggle key chain. She gave me my favorite colors pink and brown. I can remember when I did boondaggle in grade school. Everything comes back in sooner or later. She is a sweetie and is always thinking of others. She is good at making everyone in her family feel loved.

They each got a little gift this morning. Gavyn's was aother spiderman outfit. This one has a mask, and I can't seem to pry it off of him. I have to share some of the crazy things he has been saying to me lately. Today we were at Walmart, (ofcourse...I think we go everyday!) and he found a transformer that he begged me to see. I let him hold and told him we would just look at it. Big mistake! So when it came time to leave, he did not want to return the toy to the shelf. He said, "mom we take this home with me?" Mom siad, "No we are just going to look." He said, "Oh man, mom please!!!!! Just give me a chance!" I couldn't help but laugh. I have decided he watches way too much TV.

For Valentines we ate at the Maddox Lodge and invited all the people we love most to join us. There was about 15 of us and it was a fun evening. We had family from my side and family from Jayson's side. This is a picture of my kids and with grandma and great gma Hurd.

I think my kids love their grandma and grandpa more than anything. They beg to go to thier house and would far rather be with them than with their parents. They are definately the favorites. Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!

A Day With Cousins!

Grandma and Grandpa M called last weekend and got some of the grandkids together at McDonalds! It was fun for the kids to all play together. They laughed a caused a major ruckus! They were having so much fun that kids that were not even cousins were dying to be part of the pictures and the fun. Like this little boy in the middle! Who knows who he is, but he was having fun and wanted to do everything they were doing.

It was fun to see Lexi and Kira (Jason and Tricia's kids) We don't get to see them much because they are in Boise. It is mind bloggling to me how kids can have so much fun at Mcdonalds. As much as I hate Mcdonalds, I for some strange reason find myself there often. Somedays you have to pick and choose your battles with kids. My kids are always begging to play in the playland. The mother in me is always a little hesitant and worried about what kind of germs they will be contracting each time we take a playland visit. Germs, germs, and more germs, and not to mention eating during the process! Just the thought makes me shiver! Thank heavens for sanatizer!

Jenna and Libby (Tera and Jared's)

Grandpa got them all icecream. They were a mess, but boy did they ever have fun eating, laughing, playing, and screaming. Mcdonalds is the one place that they can be so crazy and so happy. Jayson and I have both decided that we could definately use one of Mcdonalds playland in our own home. We may actually get 5 mins to ourselves, without any kid interuptions! I am sure the magic would wear off just like it has with our kids playroom and movie room. Well, they had way fun seeing all the cousins, and playing with Gma and Gpa M.

A Tribute to a Great Man.......

I can't help but pause for a moment to pay tribute to our great Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley who recently passed away. What an inspirational, selfless man. He will be deeply missed by many, ...including our little family. During moments like these, (when those we know and love pass on to the next great life), I find it comforting to have the blessed knowledge and promise of eternal life. So many time in my life I have held firmly to that one promise and it carries me through life's ups and downs. President Hinkley was an inspration to me and I will miss his spirit, laughter, love, and kindness that radiated from him. I am saddened to think that my kids will not know this great prophet like I have come to know him. Although, I do know that he has made a great impression on my two girls. Jenna has been saying, "Did you know President Hinkley died?", to everyone she visits with, including random people who just happening to be passing by. They all reflect with her, and comment on his greatness! She has also been asking me if we will still be able to sing the song "We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet" in Primary on Sundays? The first thing out of Baylee's mouth when she had heard of his passing was "We will miss him, but now he is living with Heavenly Father". I am so glad she has had that small seed of faith planted within her. Even at young age, my girls were touched by his great spirit. We have all been touched eternally by his wonderful spirit. What a comfort to know that this life is not the end. Although I have always struggled with death, I know that it is an essential part of the Plan. I am greatful for a wonderful example that was given to me by our prophet Gordon B. Hinkley, of how we should live our lives. It is my prayer that we can all pattern our lives after his. May we all take his challenge and "stand a little taller"!
