Crazy Jenna..... and her tutu!

I have finally broken down and have given into Jenna's desire to be in a dance class. I have drug my feet for as long as possible....because I don't like when it becomes a popularity contest, or just the latest rage for young girls, the skimpy little outfits, eating disorders, or an avenue for a mother to live through her missed childhood through her own kids...you know those stage moms...that we all can't stand! After much debate I have decided to let the girls try dance in hopes that they will have fun some pure... and simple... fun, and enjoy just moving around.....WITH NO PRESSURE or strings ATTACHED! We don't start until next week and I a praying that I made the right choice of where to send them, I am hoping it will be a good experience, they each have a good friend in the class, so if nothing else it can be a play date.
So, a little over a month ago, I got a wild idea to take some pictures of Jenna in her tutu, yes the one she loves to where all around. Baylee, last week made her own tutu and entered it in the county fair and received a Blue Ribbon.... it was so cute... she made all on her own...stay tuned for a picture in her cute tutu.

Jenna is Beautiful in her tutu! You take awesome pictures! I think Jenna will love dance if as long as it stays fun. We just signed Corbin up for tumbling. We hope he will like it and it will help him to learn to follow instructions, and have a better release for all his energy. I think the key is the no pressure, but not letting them quit after going one time. Finding the balance to push gently to succeed and keep trying if they really like something. But not demanding they do something just 'cause you want them to do what everyone else's kids are doing. I think my parents are a good example. They let us try anything as long as we stuck with it and put in some good effort to try it. They have also always been our biggest fans, and supporters. I hope I can remember to be that way with my kids through everything. I can't wait to see Baylee's tutu. How's the girls liking school? Is Gavyn loving having some alone time or going crazy with out someone to play with? See ya at Peach Days! Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BAYLEE!

Okay darling pictures, beautiful girl, every girl needs a tu tu collection, and if you are a girl in our family, you find it perfectly acceptable to wear it to school, or shopping... I TOTALLY agree with you on your hesitations with letting our perfectly innocent daughters enter into this world of 'dance moms and their daughters'... I put my girls in last year, and they love it, although I am already catching bits and pieces from the other moms about this and that, that make me sick!! The girls are 4 and 5 years old for he** sakes! I am going to be so careful about all of this, and try to stay on top of things as much as possible. I'm so glad to hear that someone else out there has the same concerns and reservations as I. We have got a tough job raising daughters in this world... stay strong momma!!

So glad you found me! We should talk sometime. Life has been busy, but really good. We are really enjoying the baby. We're trying to finish things on the house so we can move in the spring...hopefully. I'd love to hear more from you! Your kids are beautiful!!!
